Kathleen McGovern wins December SWPL Goal of the Month, supported by Park’s Motor Group

Kathleen McGovern was voted by the public as December’s SWPL Goal of the Month winner, supported by Park’s Motor Group, for her impressive long-range goal against Rangers. Hibernian won the ball high up the field when the ball broke to the forward in space around 35 yards out from goal where she took one touch before taking the shot on, rifling it past an unsuspecting Victoria Esson in the Rangers goal and into the side of the net. This was the crowning glory of a very impressive 3-0 victory for the Leith side which took them to fourth in the table and within three points of their opponents going into the winter break. She defeated Demi Taylor (Montrose), Abby Robinson (Kilmarnock), and Amy Muir (Glasgow City) in the December 2024 edition as voted by the public.
