Summer Thomson wins January SWPL Goal of the Month, supported by Park’s Motor Group

Summer Thomson has been voted by the public as January’s SWPL Goal of the Month winner, supported by Park’s Motor Group, for her stunning strike from the edge of the area in Queen’s Park’s 2-1 victory over Dundee United at Kirkintilloch Community Sports Complex.

Summer expertly turned her defender, turned her sights towards goal and struck into the bottom left corner of the net to send Queen’s Park 2-0 up on the stroke of half-time. The goal gave Queen’s Park a two goal cushion as they entered the second-half and secured the Spiders an important three points in the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League 2.

The goal from Summer Thomson received over 54% of the public vote, up against strikes from Calliste Brookshire (Rangers), Sade Adamolekun (Hearts) and Kristen Reilly (Hibernian).
