BBC ALBA have selected six matches to kick off 2026, beginning with Rangers v Hibernian on 18th January. Hibernian completed a stunning comeback to defeat Rangers 3-2 when the two sides met at Meadowbank Stadium back in October and both teams will be aiming to register three points in this one to revitalise their title challenges.

The following week, the BBC ALBA cameras will head to Petershill Park for Glasgow City v Rangers on 25thJanuary. The current League leaders City needed a late winner from Nicole Kozlova to claim the three points when the teams met at Ibrox Stadium.

BBC ALBA will then showcase both Sky Sports Cup Semi-Final matches, with Hibernian v Glasgow City first up on 31st January, followed by Rangers v Celtic on 1st February. Grant Scott’s side defeated Edinburgh rivals Hearts in a dramatic 3-2 victory to progress to this stage, with Glasgow City overcoming Aberdeen. Rangers and Celtic reached the Semi-Final stage by defeating Partick Thistle and Queen’s Park respectively.

The BBC ALBA cameras will also capture the pick of the action in the final two matches before the split, beginning with Glasgow City and Celtic on 8th February. Elena Sadiku’s side will be looking to defeat Glasgow City for the first time in the league since August 2024, with City emerging as 2-1 winners in the reverse fixture earlier this season.

The final round of fixtures pre-split will see BBC ALBA turn their attention to Celtic v Hearts at New Douglas Park. The Edinburgh side will be hoping to continue their impressive start to the season as they currently sit in 2nd in the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League table.

In the sole selection for BBC Sport Scotland, they shall stream Celtic v Montrose on 25th January. Celtic will be hoping to keep pace at the top end of the table with Montrose looking to maintain their positive start and confirm a top six place, as we gear up towards the all-important split.
