SWPL Statement – 19th April

SWPL 1 – Motherwell v Dundee United – 14/04/2024

At a disciplinary hearing (Thursday 18^th April 2024) the panel charged Dundee United WFC for playing an ineligible player in their SWPL match against Motherwell at Fir Park on Sunday 14^th April, 2024.

The player played the full game which ended in a 2-1 win for Motherwell.

The Club presented a number of mitigating circumstances which were taken into consideration by the Tribunal before imposing the following sanction:

(i) The Club was reprimanded and warned as to future conduct; and

(ii) The match will be recorded as a 3-0 victory for Motherwell.

The SWPL acknowledges Dundee United’s right to appeal and will make no further comment.
