SWPL Statement – Celtic reach UWCL group stage

The Scottish Women’s Premier League (SWPL) would like to congratulate Celtic FC Women for reaching the group stage of the UEFA Women’s Champions League. This is a historic moment for the club and the whole game as they become the first ever Scottish side to reach this stage since the group format was reintroduced in season 2021/22. We wish them well for their upcoming matches in the competition.

As part of the UEFA Women’s Champions League schedule, Celtic will play their opening group stage match on Tuesday, 8th October.

The Celtic vs Queen’s Park match in the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League, originally scheduled for Sunday, 6th October, will therefore now be played on Wednesday, 6th November.

The SWPL will provide information regarding any further re-scheduled matches next week.

As confirmed by Celtic yesterday, all future Celtic FC Women’s matches will be played at New Douglas Park.
