SWPL Statement | Celtic v Rangers – Sunday 7 September

The UK Government Emergency Alerts system is undergoing a planned national test across the UK on Sunday, 7 September. This test is scheduled to trigger an alert on all mobile phone devices at 3:00 PM.

In light of this, and following consultation with both clubs and Sky Sports, the Scottish Women’s Premier League can confirm that the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League fixture between Celtic and Rangers, originally scheduled for 3:00 PM at New Douglas Park, will now kick off at 3:05 PM. The match will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.

This delay to kick-off has been made to accommodate the national test and to minimise disruption for players, match officials, our broadcast partner, and supporters.
