Team of the Week from ScottishPower Women’s Premier League games played on 18th January.

Goalkeeper – Roberta-Leigh Cochran (St Johnstone)

St Johnstone travelled to Ainslie Park against highflyers Spartans where Roberta-Leigh Cochran was a standout in the game. She made 7 saves throughout the game, helping her side remain in the contest right till the end. Cochran‘s save of the day in the 11th minute tipping an excellent header onto the bar, denying Spartans the early lead in the match.

Defender – Eilidh Austin (Rangers)

The Rangers full-back Eilidh Austin helped her side defeat the reigning champions in a closely contested battle at Broadwood. Rangers made it 5 wins in a row in the league and the BBC ALBA cameras caught Eilidh’s excellent assist to opening the scoring on the day. Eilidh was a constant attacking threat completing 4 successful dribbles down the Rangers right hand side, whilst remaining strong at the back, winning twelve duels in the match.

Defender – Claire Walsh (Celtic)

Celtic were triumphant at The Ross Commercial Finance Stadium K Park where they maintained their winning start to 2026. Claire Walsh was solid throughout the game and the defender netted her first Celtic goal since her move from Glasgow City. The Irish centre back helped this consistent Celtic defence keep their eighth clean sheet of the season.

Defender & Star Player– Taylor McGlashan (Kilmarnock)

Kilmarnock extended their lead at the top of the SWPL 2 table this past weekend, giving them a twelve-point gap after just fourteen games being played. Taylor McGlashan has been a key part of the Ayrshire side’s strong defence, helping keep a clean sheet as well as winning all of her aerial duels against Stirling University. Taylor scored two brilliant headers towards the end of the game, helping her side seal a convincing win.

Defender – Ronaigh Douglas (Spartans)

On the weekend Ronaigh became the highest appearance maker in Spartans history, it was only right that she scored the winning goal in their closely contested win over St Johnstone. Her goal threat from full back was accompanied by a solid defensive display, especially aerially, where she won all of her duels.

Midfielder – Emily Moran (Livingston)

Livingston left it late to kickstart the new year in their 1-1 draw away to Dundee United. Emily Moran played her first 90 minutes of the season and she was crucial in the decisive moment of the game. The Livingston number 10 played an impressive long ball to substitute Justine Strain who slotted it in the back of the net to earn Livingston a well-deserved point on the road.

Midfielder – Natalia Wróbel (Glasgow City)

Glasgow City’s impressive form has continued in 2026 where they saw off Partick Thistle in the ‘Peasy’ derby. Natalia Wróbel has been an ever-present in the Glasgow City midfield, where she continues to add goal contributions, with two assists and a goal in this one. Her tidy right footed goal sealed off the Glasgow City win and maintained their 7-point lead at the top of the SWPL 1 table.

Midfielder – Abby Robinson (Kilmarnock)

Abby Robinson has been key to Kilmarnock’s success this season, and her fine form continued against Stirling University where she netted an impressive hat-trick from midfield. The captain’s three goals have helped her overtake her teammate Cara Gray at the top of the SWPL 2 goalscoring chart. The Ayrshire side remain unbeaten at the summit of SWPL 2 this season as they strive towards the title in the second half of the season.

Forward – Saoirse Noonan (Celtic)

Saoirse Noonan contributed another goal in Celtic’s win over Motherwell, making it 11 in the league this season. The forward continues her great form from 2025 as Celtic maintain their position amongst the chasing pack in the hunt for the title.

Forward – Ellie Kane (Queen’s Park)

Queen’s Park’s forwards this season have been key to the club’s success. Ellie Kane led the line against East Fife where she continued this theme by scoring twice and grabbing a great assist. A highlight was her first goal where she curled her shot into the far corner after an impressive passing move from the Spiders.

Forward – Summer Thomson (Queen’s Park)

Summer Thomson was also impressive alongside her teammate Kane in Fife. Summer scored twice from the right wing taking her tally in the league to seven goals for the season. The youngster also proved a constant threat, completing all her dribbles during the match helping her side jump into the top 3 with this emphatic win.
