Goalkeeper – Megan Sidey (St Johnstone)

St Johnstone earned a dramatic point away to Falkirk with Elvie McLean scoring a late penalty to end the game 1-1. It looked destined for The Bairns to pick up their first ever win in the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League 2, but they were denied at the death. Playing a crucial role in goals for The Saints was Sidey, with the goalkeeper making five saves, two of which could be considered one-on-one opportunities and one fine save to deny Falkirk from the edge of the box. Without Sidey, Falkirk would have likely had the game wrapped up before McLean’s equaliser. St Johnstone next host Dundee United on Sunday (16:00 KO) as they look to go undefeated in the league in August.

Defender – Amy Lynch (Falkirk)

While it may feel like a win for St Johnstone to grab a point from defeat, it may have felt like a loss for their opponents in their first ever match at the Falkirk Stadium in the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League 2. Despite missing out on three points, newly promoted Falkirk are undefeated in the league with two points from two matches. Lynch is included after a fine defensive display which included winning 65% of her duels, 14 recoveries, and 16 interceptions, the highest number of any player in this round. The Bairns will hope to end August on a high when they host bottom of the table Livingston on Sunday (15:00 KO).

Defender – Lauren McCulloch (Renfrew)

There was also a point for the other newly promoted side to ScottishPower Women’s Premier League 2 as Renfrew secured an impressive 1-1 draw away to Hamilton Accies. With the New Douglas Park side being considered a team who could be title contenders, this is  a result that will give Renfrew a big boost for their hopes of survival in the division. McCulloch earns her spot in defence this week, scoring the all important goal and helping to restrict Accies to one goal at the other end. She also boasted a solid 74% passing accuracy rate, 67% long passing accuracy rate, and made 11 interceptions. Renfrew are back at Holm Park on Sunday (13:00 KO) when they host Queen’s Park.

Defender – Gracie Robertson (Gartcairn)

Gartcairn got their first win of the new season with a 2-0 win away to Livingston. After a disappointing opening day defeat to Boroughmuir Thistle, Graeme Hart’s side bounced back to climb up to fifth in the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League 2 table. Robertson is included for her performance down the right hand side, getting an assist for her efforts. She also had a 67% passing accuracy rate, a 100% crossing accuracy rate, and won a solid 76% of her duels. Gartcairn will look to end the month with back-to-back victories as they host Hamilton Accies on Sunday (14:00 KO)

Midfielder – Siobhan Hunter (Hibernian)

It’s a shock to no one to see Hunter in the team of the week this round as the Hibs defender scored twice in their 3-1 win away to Partick Thistle. A famously tricky tie at Petershill Park, Joelle Murray’s side came away with all three points against The Jags as they made it back-to-back victories to start the 2026/27 campaign. Hunter was in the right place at the right time for both her goals, heading past Ava Easdon from a corner to give Hibs the lead before making it 3-1 as she headed home from a cross. Hibernian face arguably their toughest test so far this campaign when they travel away to Celtic on Sunday (13:00 KO), live on BBC Sport Scotland.

Midfielder – Monica Forsyth (Heart of Midlothian)

Reigning champions Hearts returned to the top of the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League, ahead of the pack on goal difference. After a 6-0 win on the opening day, The Jambos followed that up with a 5-0 away win over Motherwell on Sunday. Forsyth got two goals from midfield, heading in the opener after a well timed run into the box which was followed up 30 minutes later with a strike from just outside the box. In the 81 minutes played she also had a 78% passing accuracy rate, provided four crosses, and boasted a 100% dribbling success rate. It’s another big match on Sunday in the league as Hearts welcome Rangers (16:10 KO), live on BBC ALBA.

Midfielder – Adian Ibrahim (Boroughmuir Thistle)

Boroughmuir Thistle are one of two teams with a 100% record in the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League 2, defeating Queen’s Park on Sunday 1-0. After losing to The Spiders last season in the play-offs, this will act as some revenge as the Edinburgh side seek the title and automatic promotion. Ibrahim is selected for her performance, most importantly, holding the ball up well inside the box before being fouled for a penalty which was scored. The winger also had a shot on target, a very solid 75% passing accuracy rate, a 57% dribbling success rate, and won an impressive 70% of her duels. Thistle will hope to maintain their record at the expense of fellow title chasers Kilmarnock on Sunday (13:00 KO).

Midfielder – Erin O’Brien (Kilmarnock)

The only other side to boast a 100% record in the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League 2 is Killie, as the free scoring side now have eight goals from their opening two matches. In their first home game this season, Kilmarnock were 3-0 winners over Dundee United as they kept a clean sheet in the process. Making the team is O’Brien, who opened the scoring after just four minutes as well as providing an assist for Cara Gray. The midfielder had a further two shots, achieved an 80% passing accuracy rate, and won the majority of her duels. Only one 100% record can remain on Sunday when Boroughmuir Thistle and Kilmarnock meet (13:00 KO) at the Meadowbank Stadium.

Forward – Lisa Forrest (Glasgow City)

You’ll be hard pressed to think of a time when a forward had such an impact on a game without scoring than Forrest’s performance on Sunday. She was a constant threat against The Dons in their 3-0 win and provided two assists. She did have one shot on target which was well saved, as well as providing an incredible 17 crosses. Leanne Ross will be hoping for more of the save, albeit perhaps with a goal or two, when they host newly promoted Spartans on Sunday (13:00 KO)

Forward & Star Player– Katie Wilkinson (Rangers)

Wilkinson is a name we’re all familiar with in the team of the week, as part of the team in general and as the star player, as she earns another inclusion in just round two of the 2026/27 season. The English striker scored four goals on Sunday, a hat-trick after just 22 minutes, as Rangers put Spartans to the sword in the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League. In the 75 minutes played, Wilkinson had a total of seven shots, managed an 80% passing accuracy rate, and won 60% of her duels. She’ll be hoping to continue Sunday’s fine form this weekend when Rangers travel away to Hearts (16:10 KO), live on BBC ALBA.

Forward – Isabella Fisher (Celtic)

After a battling 2-1 win over Glasgow City on the opening day of the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League, Celtic were perhaps hoping for a comfortable win over Montrose on Sunday. While 3-0 may look like it, Grant Scott’s were pushed all the way as they needed to wait until the 82nd minute to break the deadlock and eventually get all three points. Fisher makes the team as she proved to be a threat on her home debut, hitting the post with the game goalless, finding herself denied by brave Montrose defending, before eventually getting a goal for her efforts with a lovely shot from distance to put the game to bed. Celtic are back at the Kirkintilloch Community Sports Complex on Sunday when they host Hibernian (13:00 KO), live on BBC Sport Scotland.
