Goalkeeper – Katie O’Hanlon (Aberdeen)

It was a disappointing result for Aberdeen on Sunday, falling to a 3-0 defeat to Partick Thistle as they sit bottom of the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League without a point. The Dons have only won one game so far this season, a 1-0 win against SWPL 2 side Dundee United in the Sky Sports Cup, so will need to find form in their aim to avoid finishing in the bottom two. In goals, O’Hanlon had an excellent game as she limited The Jags to three goals. She made seven saves in the match, including two fantastic stops from close range. She might be disappointed in the third goal conceded, but there is no doubt the scoreline would have been much worse without the English ‘keeper. The Dons are away to newly promoted Spartans on Sunday (13:00 KO) in what could be a huge match for both teams.

Defender – Chelsie Watson (Motherwell)

The Women of Steel got revenge for their Sky Sports Cup defeat to Montrose in July, prevailing 3-1 away from home in the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League. With The Mighty Mo being considered the favourites after a competitive start to the season in the Sky Sports Cup, Iain Robinson’s side took all three points to climb up the table. Captain Watson is included as alongside her colleagues, they limited Montrose to just one goal from a penalty. She also provided the assist for their third goal, had a 70% passing accuracy rate, won the majority of her duels, and made more recoveries than losses. Motherwell face a tricky home tie against Rangers on Sunday (16:00 KO) as they search for back-to-back wins.

Defender – Nicola Jamieson (Dundee United)

It’s not often a defender is included after playing in a match where the defence conceded three goals, but Jamieson makes an exception. With United 3-1 down against St Johnstone, they battled back to win 4-3 and produce one of the best comebacks in the history of the SWPL. Jamieson makes the team, having provided an assist and then scoring the all important winner in injury time, in the right place to finish after a scramble in the box. She also won 70% of her duels, made nine interceptions, provided three crosses, had a further three shots, and boasted a solid 67% passing accuracy rate. The Tangerines host Renfrew on Sunday (15:30 KO) with the potential to finish the day in the top four of the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League 2.

Defender – Chloe Craig (Celtic)

Celtic continued their excellent start to the 2026/27 season as they maintained their 100% start to the season with a 2-0 win over Hibernian. Grant Scott’s side have now already faced Glasgow City and Hibs, coming out unscathed in their battle to win the league for the first time since 2023/24. Craig is included as she opened the scoring, flicking the ball into the net as it was rifled towards goal by Kelly Clark, and helping keep a clean sheet against an attacking Hibernian side. Craig was also making her first start this season, having come on late in the game last Sunday against Montrose. Celtic have a Glasgow derby next as they face Partick Thistle on Sunday (13:00 KO) at Petershill Park.

Midfielder – Abby Robinson (Partick Thistle)

Partick Thistle remain in the top six of the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League following a 3-0 win over Aberdeen. Famously a tricky journey up North to the Balmoral Stadium, The Jags made light work of Aberdeen. Robinson, a summer signing from Kilmarnock, showed her ability to play at the highest level as she opened the scoring, finishing the ball into the roof of the net after landing at her feet from the corner. She was also denied a second after a fantastic save by O’Hanlon from close range. The midfielder had a total of six shots on Sunday, won 57% of her duels, and won 80% of her aerial duels. Partick Thistle host Celtic on Sunday (13:00 KO) looking to end their opponents 100% record.

Midfielder – Calliste Brookshire (Rangers)

Rangers maintained their 100% start in the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League with a comfortable 3-0 win over reigning champions Hearts. With The Gers having failed to beat the Edinburgh side last season in the league, this is a potentially huge result in the title battle. Brookshire was voted as the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League player of the match, and understandably so. The winger was dangerous throughout, playing her part in their final goal of the match as well as smashing a shot against the junction of the goal. She also provided four crosses, had seven dribbles, and won an impressive 83% of her duels. Rangers are next away to Motherwell on Sunday (16:00 KO) as they look to remain top of the table.

Midfielder – Caitlin Lynch (Boroughmuir Thistle)

Boroughmuir Thistle are the only side in the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League 2 with a 100% record after they were 3-0 winners over Kilmarnock on Sunday. While there have only been three games played, Thistle have certainly put down an early marker as they bid to win the title. Lynch was excellent on Sunday as the defensive midfielder had the highest number of interceptions (14) and aerial duels (13) of any player this round as well as boasting a 70% passing accuracy rate, winning 74% of her duels, and making 29 recoveries compared to just 16 losses. It’s top against bottom on Sunday (16:00 KO) when Livingston welcome Boroughmuir Thistle.

Midfielder – Olivia Murphy (Falkirk)

Falkirk got their first ever victory in the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League 2 with a 2-0 win over Livingston. The result also means The Bairns end August unbeaten, the first ever time a newly managed side have managed this achievement in this league. Murphy makes the team after scoring and providing an assist, with Emma Lawson the provider and finisher. Murphy also had an impressive 81% passing success rate and provided three crosses. Falkirk are away to Hamilton Academical on Sunday (14:30) as they look to maintain their fine start.

Forward & Star Player – Lisa Forrest (Glasgow City)

It’s back-to-back inclusions in the team for Forrest, with Leanne Ross suggesting the forward could be in line for a call up to the Scotland squad. With a hat-trick on Sunday, it’s easy to see why. The 20 year old had five shots in the match, all on target, as she helped Glasgow City to a 7-0 win over Spartans. She also provided nine crosses, boasted an 80% dribbling success rate, and won 80% of her total duels. Glasgow City face a tough tie on Friday when they travel to face Hibernian (19:35), live on BBC ALBA.

Forward – Ellie Kane (Queen’s Park)

Queen’s Park bounced back from their defeat to Boroughmuir Thistle last Sunday and a 3-1 midweek loss to Livingston in the Sky Sports Cup with a crushing 7-0 win over Renfrew. The newly promoted side were put to the sword by The Spiders who moved up to second in the table. Kane, a regular feature in this team during the 2023/24 season, is back after scoring once and providing two assists. The forward had a total of eight shots, with five on target, as well as providing four crosses, and having nine dribbles. Queen’s Park will hope for back-to-back victories on Sunday (13:00 KO) when they host Gartcairn.

Forward – Josi Giard (Hamilton Academical)

Hamilton Academical got their first win in the league since May 2025 in a hard fought 4-3 win away to Gartcairn. After failing to win their opening two games in the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League 2, Robert Watson will be delighted to break the streak that started after promotion to the top division. The German forward makes the team after a hat-trick in just over an hour. She also had a further two shots, a 71% passing success rate and a 75% dribbling success rate. Accies will look to maintain winning ways when they host Falkirk on Sunday (14:30 KO).
