Goalkeeper – Rowena Armitage, Hibernian

Hibernian earned a hard-fought 2-2 draw against Glasgow City on Friday night in the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League, and goalkeeper Armitage played an instrumental role in securing the point. The young ‘keeper came on after just 13 minutes due to an injury to Anastasiadis with the game level at 1-1. Despite an expected goals conceded of 2.48 xCG across 10 total shots against, Armitage conceded just once, making nine saves to frustrate City. She also successfully completed 17 of her 20 short passes. Hibernian are in Sky Sports Cup action on Sunday as they travel away to SWPL 2 side Kilmarnock (15:00 KO).

Defender – Laura McLaughlin, Kilmarnock

Kilmarnock were dominant in the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League 2 on Sunday, cruising to a 7-0 victory over St. Johnstone, as Killie remain just three points behind the league leaders. McLaughlin contributed at both ends of the pitch, as she helped her side keep a clean sheet and got herself a goal. She completed 27 passes for a 69% passing accuracy rate, made six interceptions, and recovered possession 13 times. Kilmarnock turn their attention to cup action on Sunday as they look to cause an upset when they host Hibernian (15:00 KO).

Defender – Lucy Stevenson, Dundee United

Dundee United made it back-to-back victories in the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League 2 with a comfortable 3-0 home win over Renfrew on Sunday, moving them up the table in the process. Stevenson earns her second inclusion of the 2026/27 season for a standout performance at the back. She provided the assist for United’s opening goal and showed excellent quality in possession, completing 45 passes with a 75% accuracy rate, including five successful long balls and three accurate dribbles. Defensively, she won 69% of her duels, made three interceptions, and managed 14 recoveries to help keep Renfrew at bay. The Tangerines are next in action on 20th September when they host Queen’s Park in the league.

Defender – Fallon Connolly-Jackson, Rangers

Rangers continued their perfect start in the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League, securing a convincing 3-0 win away to Motherwell. Connolly-Jackson helped her side to their third consecutive clean sheet, now over 315 minutes since they last conceded, as well as threatening at the other end. The defender headed the ball goalwards with the game goalless after an excellent delivery, only to be denied by the goalkeeper. Rangers return to action on Sunday 20th September when they host Aberdeen, live on BBC ALBA.

Midfielder – Summer Thomson, Queen’s Park

Operating from the right, Thomson produced a fantastic display as she scored both goals for The Spiders, taking her tally to four goals in her last two matches. The midfielder registered six shots, four of which were on target, and looked dynamic on the ball with five successful dribbles out of six (83% success rate). Thomson also provided six crosses and achieved a 65% passing accuracy rate to keep the pressure on the visitors throughout the afternoon. The Spiders are back in action on Sunday 20th September when they travel away to Dundee United in the league.

Midfielder – Maisy Stewart, Falkirk

Falkirk extended their unbeaten run since promotion to the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League 2 with a gritty 1-0 away victory against Hamilton Academical. Operating in the middle of the park, Stewart put in a tireless box-to-box display, scoring the solitary goal to claim all three points for The Bairns. Alongside her crucial strike, Stewart won 20 of her 32 total duels (63% success) and had a 67% passing accuracy rate. Falkirk’s next match is at home to Gartcairn in the league on Sunday 20th September.

Midfielder – Carly Johns, Heart of Midlothian

Hearts bounced back in style on Sunday, delivering an emphatic 7-0 victory away to Montrose at Links Park. Johns was voted as Hearts’ Player of the Match after producing a standout performance as she scored once and provided an assist, generating a 1.08 xG across nine total shots. She also completed 40 passes with a 73% accuracy and achieved an 80% successful dribbling rate. Hearts have an Edinburgh derby next when they are away to Spartans in the league on Sunday 20th September.

Midfielder & Star Player – Izzy Young, Spartans

Spartans earned a potentially vital 3-1 victory over Aberdeen in a match that could be a huge boost to their survival chances in the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League. Young was the star of the show for the hosts, turning in a magnificent match-winning performance as she scored all three goals to bag a memorable hat-trick. Her composure in front of goal, including a lovely curling finish for her second, puts her side four points clear of the relegation zone. Spartans play on Sunday in the Sky Sports Cup with a tricky away tie against Celtic (13:00 KO).

Forward – Imogen Longcake, Partick Thistle

Partick Thistle gave title contenders Celtic a scare at Petershill Park, pushing the Hoops all the way in a thrilling 3-2 contest. In the end, Grant Scott’s side maintained their 100% start, but left it late to defeat The Jags. Longcake was a constant thorn in the side of the Celtic defence, using her pace and directness to score their first goal and then flicking the ball into the path of Sophie Townsley to provide the assist for their second. It was an excellent performance in her 100th appearance for the club, and they’ll be disappointed not to have earned at least a point. Gary Holt’s side are in Sky Sports Cup action on Sunday as they welcome SWPL 2 side Gartcairn to Petershill Park (13:00 KO).

Forward – Holly Aitchison, Boroughmuir Thistle

Boroughmuir Thistle maintained their perfect start to the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League 2 season with a 3-1 victory away to Livingston. Aitchison led the line brilliantly, scoring twice to ensure all three points for the Edinburgh side. The forward was clinical from a dead ball, scoring from the penalty spot and from a free-kick from an overall xG of just 0.79. She also linked play effectively with 34 completed passes at an impressive 83% accuracy rate. Thistle will look to test themselves against SPWPL opposition in the Sky Sports Cup when they welcome Montrose (13:00 KO).

Forward – Kelly Brady, Glasgow City

Glasgow City came away with a 2-2 draw away to Hibernian on Friday night, though may be disappointed having had plenty more shots on target compared to Hibs. It was clear to see why Brady was selected as the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League Player of the Match, with the clinical striker scoring both of City’s goals. She also registered five shots (four on target), and achieved a 74% passing accuracy rate, and generated an xG of 1.32. With four goals in her last three games, the American is proving why she is one of the most dangerous forwards in the division. Glasgow City will be looking to retain the Sky Sports Cup this season and start their journey away to SPWPL 2 side Livingston on Sunday (16:00 KO).
