2023/24 Sky Sports Cup Final to be played at Tynecastle Park
- General News
The 2023/24 Sky Sports Cup Final will be played at Tynecastle Park on either Saturday 23rd or Sunday 24th March 2024. The match will also be exclusively live on Sky Sports.
The venue hosted last season’s final in front of a record crowd as Rangers came away 2-0 winners over Hibernian. It also featured the 2022/23 Goal of the Season as Lizzie Arnot’s thunderous strike opened the scoring.
Fiona McIntyre, SWPL Managing Director, said: “We’re delighted to be returning to Tynecastle Park for the 2023/24 Sky Sports Cup Final. The feedback we had from the clubs and fans after last year’s final was incredibly positive, coupled with a record attendance on the day.
“The atmosphere on a matchday within Tynecastle is recognised by Scottish football fans as one of the best in the country, so we’re already looking forward to another fantastic occasion and opportunity to showcase the very best of women’s football in Scotland at the final in March. We encourage fans to keep that weekend free and come along to show their support.
Andrew McKinlay, Heart of Midlothian CEO, said: “It’s a privilege to once again host the Sky Sports Cup Final at Tynecastle Park.
Women’s football in Scotland continues to go from strength to strength, and I hope that the Tynecastle experience plays a part in making the final a memorable occasion for everyone involved.”
The Semi-Final draw, conducted today at Tynecastle live on Sky Sports News by Fiona McIntyre and SWPL legend Suzanne Winters, is as follows:
Celtic v Rangers
Partick Thistle v Hibernian
It means that the two most recent winners of the competition, Rangers (2022/23) and Celtic (2021/22), will battle for a place in the final. In the last meeting between the sides, Rangers were 2-1 winners at the Excelsior Stadium.
In the other match, last year’s finalists Hibernian travel to face Partick Thistle. The Jags were 2-0 winners at Meadowbank when the sides met in the league back in October and will be hoping to make home advantage count in their bid to reach their first ever cup final.
The Semi-Finals will take place on or before Sunday 21st January, hosted by the home clubs. Ticket information for the final will follow these matches.
