The Scottish Women’s Premier League (SWPL) can confirm the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League (SPWPL) and ScottishPower Women’s Premier League 2 (SPWPL 2) matches selected for broadcast in May across fixture rounds 26 and 27. The games selected for broadcast on BBC ALBA and BBC Sport Scotland are as follows:

Date Match Broadcaster Kick-off
Sunday 10 May Kilmarnock v Boroughmuir Thistle BBC ALBA 13:05
Sunday 10 May Partick Thistle v Rangers BBC Sport Scotland 14:00
Sunday 10 May Celtic v Hearts BBC ALBA 16:10
Sunday 17 May Hearts v Glasgow City BBC ALBA 13:10
Sunday 17 May Rangers v Celtic BBC Sport Scotland 16:00

BBC ALBA kick the month off with the first ever SPWPL 2 match to be broadcast live as they head to the BBSP Stadium Rugby Park on the 10th May. Kilmarnock are the current league leaders in the SPWPL 2, with a four-point lead over closest chasers Spartans and they will be aiming to finish the league off in style, at home, in front of the cameras.

BBC ALBA will then head to New Douglas Park to showcase the current SPWPL league leaders Hearts, as they travel to face Celtic. Eva Olid’s side came out on top in the first post-split meeting between the two teams with an imposing 4-1 win at Oriam.

On the penultimate matchday of the season, Hearts will be live on BBC ALBA again, this time for their final home match against, currently third-placed, Glasgow City. Hearts went top of the table after the sides last met, with Danique Ypema’s strike from range being the difference at Petershill Park.

Additionally on Sunday 10th May, BBC Sport Scotland have selected Rangers’ visit to Petershill Park, where they will take on Partick Thistle. When the sides met earlier in the post-split phase, Leanne Crichton’s team emerged narrow victors with a 1-0 win at Broadwood Stadium.

BBC Sport Scotland’s second selection in May sees their cameras head to Broadwood Stadium to showcase the final Old Firm clash of the season, as Rangers host Celtic. Rangers have been victorious on each of the three meetings in the SPWPL so far this season, most recently with a 3-0 win at New Douglas Park, thanks to a Katie Wilkinson hat-trick.

The final day of the SPWPL season for the top six will take place on the 24th May, with broadcast selections and match kick-off times to be confirmed in due course.

Fiona McIntyre, SWPL Managing Director, said: “It has been yet another hugely compelling season in the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League, and in what has become somewhat of a trademark of the SWPL, both leagues appear to once again be going right to the wire.

We are delighted to announce that the finale of both leagues’ title races will be available to watch across both BBC ALBA and BBC Sport Scotland in the coming weeks. We are also thrilled that, for the first time ever, BBC ALBA will live broadcast a SPWPL 2 match, showcasing the run-in to what has been an incredible season in that division.

We encourage all supporters to get along to a match or to tune in to support their team, as we approach what is sure to be another dramatic conclusion in the race for the SWPL titles”
