SWPL Statement – 19th December 2023

SWPL 2 – St Johnstone v Glasgow Women – 10/12/2023

At a disciplinary hearing yesterday (Monday 18^th December 2023) the panel charged Glasgow Women for playing a trialist without notification to the league in their SWPL 2 match against St Johnstone at Riverside Stadium on Sunday 10th December, 2023.

The trialist played approximately 54 minutes and the game ended in a 1-0 win for Glasgow Women.

The Tribunal imposed the following sanctions:

(i) The Club was reprimanded and warned as to future conduct;

(ii) Glasgow Women’s SWPL 2 match v St Johnstone will be recorded as a 3-0 victory for St Johnstone;

(iii) A fine of £150 which is suspended until the end of the 2024/25 season pending any further breaches of SWPL Player Regulations.

The SWPL acknowledges Glasgow Women’s right to appeal and will make no further comment.
