Sunday 17th May

ScottishPower Women’s Premier League

Champions: Hearts are four points clear of Rangers heading into the penultimate matchday.

Eva Olid’s side will be crowned ScottishPower Women’s Premier League (SPWPL) champions with a win at home over Glasgow City.

Should Hearts draw or lose, Rangers must win at home to Celtic in the later kick-off due to Hearts’ superior record in the head-to-head, having defeated Leanne Crichton’s side on three occasions this season.

UEFA Women’s Champions League Qualification: Glasgow City, while unable to be crowned Champions following last weekend’s results, must at least match Rangers’ result on Sunday 17th in order to keep their UWCL qualification hopes alive.

ScottishPower Women’s Premier League 2

Champions: Kilmarnock go into the final day knowing that a win away to Queen’s Park will see them secure the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League 2 (SPWPL2) title and promotion to compete in the top tier for the first time since 2012.

Spartans enter the final day trailing Kilmarnock by one point, hoping for a return to the SPWPL at the first opportunity following relegation last season.

A win or draw for Queen’s Park against Killie, as well as a Spartans win, would crown Jack Beesley’s side champions.

Should Kilmarnock lose however and Spartans draw, this would also be enough for the Edinburgh side to clinch the title, due to their narrowly superior head-to-head record over Jim Chapman’s side.

Promotions Play-Offs: Boroughmuir Thistle and Queen’s Park will face-off in the SPWPL Promotion Play-Off quarter-final next Wednesday, with Boroughmuir Thistle requiring just a point at home to Gartcairn on the final day to ensure that they are the home side for that tie. Should Boroughmuir Thistle lose, and Queen’s Park win, Queen’s Park could still become the home side for that tie should they make up a post-split goal differential of five compared to the Edinburgh side.

One of the two sides will progress from that quarter-final to face either Kilmarnock or Spartans away in the semi-final, before the victor of that matches faces Aberdeen in the Play-Off Final following their 9th place SPWPL finish.

Relegation Play-Offs: East Fife and St Johnstone face each other this weekend in a bid for each to confirm their SWPL 2 status for next season. The sides currently sit level on points in the SPWPL2 table.

East Fife currently hold the superior head-to-head record and thus occupy 8th spot. St Johnstone must win to climb above the Methil side and ensure safety in this dramatic straight shoot-out for confirming survival.
